This workshop is intended for all who are interested in clients with peripheral nerve problems, including those with diabetes, carpal tunnel syndrome;  any peripheral nerve lesion or neuropathy. It is presented in the interest of furthering examiner skill for early detection of abnormality, and monitoring direction of change for timely treatment that holds potential to not just prevent disability, but reverse and correct developing problems. It will also teach skills for minimizing permanent damage and disability from secondary skin, sensory, and motor (muscle) changes. This subject matter is of keen interest to occupational and physical therapists, but crosses many disciplines, including those professionals focused on the lower extremity as well. Podiatrists and others interested are welcome. Although the material will cover the hand along with all other parts of the body, those working with the foot can especially benefit by learning the knowledge base first developed for the hand and upper extremity in monitoring clients for treatment intervention as well as disability intervention.
